What are the qualifications for renting a room at the Roeland Park Community Center?
- You must be a resident of Johnson County and at least 21 years old.
- The event must be for private use or use by a non-profit organization – commercial use is prohibited.
- Requests for space must be made at least 10 days in advance of the event.
- Facility Request forms must be completed, and the deposit and room rental paid, when the reservation is made.
What size groups will the facility accommodate?
- Classrooms 2 and 3 are approximately 900 square feet and accommodate 25 – 30.
- Classroom 4 is approximately 1,900 square feet and accommodates up to 85.
- The multi-purpose room with kitchen is 2,500 square feet and accommodates up to 125.
What hours is it available for rent?
- Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
- Friday and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
- Sunday, 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
What are the rental fees?
- Classrooms 2 and 3 – hourly rate of $10 for Roeland Park residents and $13 for other Johnson County residents. There is an additional security deposit of $50 refundable following the event.
- Classroom 4 – hourly rate of $14 for Roeland Park residents and $18 for other Johnson County residents. Additional security deposit of $50 refundable following the event.
- Multi-purpose room w/kitchen – hourly rate of $28 for Roeland Park residents and $35 for other Johnson County residents. Additional security deposit of $100 refundable following the event.
How do I get a copy of the rules and regulations?
Call the Community Center, (913) 826-3130, and a copy will be mailed to you.
Is alcohol allowed?
- The city of Roeland Park will allow 3.2 beer and wine only, to be served within the multi-purpose room only, under certain conditions. No alcohol is allowed in any other areas of the facility or grounds.
- Application for an alcohol permit is made at the time of rental.
- There is a $25 alcohol permit application fee.
- There will be additional room charges for security during the event if alcohol is served.
