Special Programs
There are many ways to help needy individuals and families living in our community.
Here are just some of the ways you can help.
- Raise and donate money to your school district's community fund.
- Organize a food drive.
- Purchase and donate grocery and gasoline gift certificates.
- Donate new clothing.
- Help sort and organize in the food pantry or clothing closet.
- Donate backpacks and school supplies.
- Provide items for a Thanksgiving basket.
- Sponsor a family for Christmas.
- Help out in the office by answering the phone and greeting visitors.
- Organize a drive for personal hygiene items.
- Donate small household items.
- Donate new toys and birthday party bags to the birthday shop.
- Provide baby items and diapers.
- Help with fund raising.

to new and innovative ideas.
The center is located in the De Soto Community Center at the corner of 84th and Shawnee streets.
From K-10:
- Take K-10 to Kill Creek Road.
- Turn north on Kill Creek (right turn from the east; left turn from the west) and follow Kill Creek to 83rd Street (stop sign).
- Turn left (west) on 83rd Street. Stay on 83rd. (83rd Street curves to the left and turns into Lexington Ave. or continues straight—continue going straight.)
- Turn left (south) on Shawnee Street. (At the corner of 83rd & Shawnee are the Great American Bank time & temperature sign and a dentist’s office.)
- Go south on Shawnee one block. The street dead-ends at the Multi-Service Center.
- The Multi-Service Center entrance is at the corner of 84th & Shawnee streets.
- There is parking, including handicap parking, in front of the building. The Multi-Service Center is in the west wing of the building.
From K-7:
- Take the 83rd Street exit.
- Go west (right turn coming from the north; left turn coming from the south) on 83rd Street.
- Stay on 83rd Street. (83rd Street curves to the left and turns into Lexington Avenue or continues straight—continue going straight.)
- Turn left (south) on Shawnee Street.
- Go south on Shawnee one block. The street dead-ends at the Multi-Service Center.
- The Multi-Service entrance is at the corner of 84th & Shawnee streets.
- There is parking, including Handicap parking, in front of the building. The Multi-Service Center
is in the west wing of the building.

8:00 a.m. – noon & 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Friday - by appointment only
Client assistance is provided Monday through Thursday only. Appointments are preferred. Please call the center, (913) 583-1152, to schedule an appointment.
