Am I eligible for rent/mortgage assistance?
Your family may receive assistance if:
- You live in Johnson County.
- Your household meets the income guidelines.
- Your landlord or mortgage company is willing to cooperate with the assistance process.
- You are able to pay the difference between our assistance and your past-due rent or mortgage.
- You have a reasonable plan to make future rent or mortgage payments on your own.
How much assistance is available?
The amount of assistance varies, based upon available funding. Call your local Multi-Service Center to find out whether funds are available for rent or mortgage assistance.
How often may I receive assistance?
Not more than one time in 12 months.

What do I need to bring to my appointment?
- Proof of income
- Social Security cards
- Late notice or eviction notice showing outstanding rent or mortgage payment.
- Copy of lease, if renting
- Know your plan for future rent or mortgage payments
